A leading UK law firm with a strong regional presence is looking to appoint a talented Planning Lawyer (1-5 PQE) to join its growing and highly regarded Commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious planning solicitor to work on a broad range of high-quality planning and environmental matters, advising an impressive client base that includes developers, landowners, businesses, and public sector organisations. The Opportunity

As part of a dynamic and forward-thinking team, you will advise on a variety of complex planning issues while working closely with experienced senior lawyers on significant projects and developments.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Advising clients on a wide range of planning matters, including planning applications, appeals, enforcement proceedings, and judicial review claims.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating Section 106 Agreements and other planning-related documentation.
  • Conducting detailed legal research and preparing reports, briefing notes, and client advice.
  • Supporting senior lawyers on complex planning and environmental matters.
  • Liaising with local authorities, developers, consultants, and other key stakeholders.
  • Keeping abreast of developments in planning legislation, policy, and case law to ensure clients receive commercially focused and up-to-date advice.

About You

We are keen to speak with qualified solicitors who can demonstrate:

  • Between 1 and 5 years' PQE gained within a recognised planning and/or environmental law team.
  • Strong technical knowledge of planning law and associated regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to provide pragmatic, business-focused legal advice.
  • The confidence to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to working within a team environment.
