We are partnering with a private equity-backed, high-growth professional services group, based in Solihull, undergoing an ambitious buy-and-build strategy. With strong financial backing and an active M&A pipeline, the business is scaling rapidly through acquisitions and organic growth.

As part of this journey, we are seeking a technically strong ACA qualified Group Financial Controller to play a critical leadership role in shaping a best-in-class finance function. This is a unique opportunity to join at a pivotal stage and have genuine impact on the future of the organisation.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will operate at the heart of a fast-paced, deal-driven environment. You will combine strong technical expertise with commercial acumen, helping to scale the finance function while supporting ongoing M&A activity and post-deal integration.

You will lead from the front, driving improvements in reporting, controls, systems, and processes, while building a high-performing team.

Key responsibilities include:

Financial Control & Reporting

  • Own and enhance the Group's financial control environment
  • Lead consolidated reporting and statutory accounts across multiple entities
  • Ensure consistency in accounting policies (IFRS/UK GAAP)
  • Manage external audits and regulatory compliance

Private Equity & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a key interface with private equity investors
  • Support board reporting and strategic decision-making
  • Build relationships with lenders, auditors, and advisors

M&A & Integration

  • Support financial due diligence and deal execution
  • Lead post-acquisition integration of finance processes and reporting
  • Drive synergy tracking and performance optimisation

Transformation & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive improvements in reporting quality and timelines
  • Lead finance transformation projects across systems and processes
  • Implement scalable infrastructure to support growth
  • Champion automation and efficiency initiatives

Leadership

  • Build, develop, and inspire a high-performing finance team
  • Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

Candidate profile required:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Previously trained with a top-tier accountancy firm.
  • Experience within a private equity-backed business
  • Strong M&A exposure
  • Track record of driving change in reporting, systems, and processes
  • Experience in post-acquisition integration
  • Strong technical knowledge (IFRS/UK GAAP)
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
