Fund Accountant
About the Opportunity
We are working with a leading UK real estate developer and asset manager seeking a talented Fund Accountant to join its growing finance team.
The business has an extensive portfolio of commercial and industrial property assets across the UK, with a significant pipeline of development projects and investment properties under management. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, highly successful organisation operating at scale within the real estate sector.
The successful candidate will work closely with finance, development and asset management teams, providing end-to-end accounting and financial support across a range of third-party investment and development structures. The role offers broad exposure to financial reporting, fund accounting, property accounting and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities
Financial & Statutory Reporting
- Prepare periodic management accounts and related management information.
- Produce annual statutory financial statements using accounts preparation software.
- Manage external audit processes.
- Prepare consolidated lender reports.
- Produce bank covenant reporting and compliance confirmations.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations.
- Reconcile intercompany balances across multiple entities.
- Support VAT and CIS compliance requirements, including registrations where required.
Property Accounting
- Review and process reports received from external property managers.
- Generate and post property-related accounting journals.
- Maintain tenancy schedules and rent deposit records.
- Prepare service charge reconciliations.
- Review and support payment runs alongside the Accounts Payable team.
- Assist with cashflow management activities.
- Support acquisitions, disposals and financial due diligence exercises.
- Contribute to ad hoc projects and property-related initiatives.
About You
We are looking for a motivated accountant with strong technical skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
Essential Experience & Skills
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA finalist, newly qualified or fully qualified accountant.
- Experience preparing statutory accounts.
- Strong knowledge of FRS102 and UK statutory reporting requirements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong Excel capability.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Collaborative team player with a flexible approach.
Desirable Experience
- Experience of Oracle NetSuite or a comparable accounting system.
- Exposure to real estate fund structures, including REITs, QAHCs and LP/GP arrangements.
- Property accounting experience, including service charges and investment property accounting.
- Ability to work effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
