Credit Controller

Location: Birmingham
Salary:

  • Part-time: £18,000
  • Full-time: £26,500

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and organised Credit Controller to join our finance team in Birmingham. This role will focus on managing and reducing 0-90 day aged debt, ensuring timely collections while maintaining strong customer relationships.

This position is available on both a part-time and full-time basis, offering flexibility for the right candidate.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of customer accounts, with a focus on 0-90 day aged debt
  • Proactively contact customers via phone and email to ensure prompt payment of outstanding invoices
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to support effective collections
  • Monitor customer accounts to ensure payment terms are adhered to
  • Investigate and resolve invoice queries to prevent payment delays
  • Allocate incoming payments and maintain accurate account records
  • Produce and review aged debt reports, highlighting risks and overdue balances
  • Work closely with internal teams (e.g. sales and operations) to resolve issues impacting payment
  • Support month-end processes, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in credit control or accounts receivable
  • Strong focus on early-stage collections (0-90 day debt)
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
  • Confident using finance systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • A proactive and professional approach to problem-solving
