The Opportunity

Clearwater is looking for a driven and detail-oriented Corporate Finance Associate to join its growing Birmingham team. This is an excellent opportunity for newly qualified professionals to accelerate their careers within a fast-paced, international advisory firm.

Whether you are just starting your post-qualification journey or ready for your next challenge, you will gain exposure to high-profile M&A transactions while working alongside experienced dealmakers in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Who We Are

Clearwater is a boutique corporate finance advisory firm built on the belief that every business has the potential to achieve more. With over 20 years of experience, the firm delivers bespoke, forward-thinking advice to mid-market clients across a broad international platform.

In April 2026, KeyCorp announced its agreement to acquire Clearwater UK following a 6 year relationship with KeyBanc Capital, marking a significant milestone in the firm's growth and strengthening its transatlantic capabilities. This strategic move enhances access to both US and European markets, creating greater opportunities for clients and employees alike.

At Clearwater, our values - Personable, Adaptable and Committed - define how we work. We foster an open, collaborative culture that encourages ambition and supports both professional and personal development.

As a Corporate Finance Associate, you will play a key role in supporting the execution of complex transactions and delivering high-quality advice to clients. Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing information memoranda, and other marketing materials
  • Reviewing company financial information and providing analytical input
  • Coordinating third party due diligence with external advisors
  • Working closely with accountants, lawyers, banks, and investors throughout transactions
  • Conducting sector research to support client engagements and pitches
  • Contributing to client presentations and business development activity
  • Developing an understanding of key legal and tax considerations in M&A

What We're Looking For

  • ACA/CA qualified with 0-2 years' PQE, ideally from a Top 6 firm
  • Strong analytical ability and financial acumen
  • A proactive, highly organised and detail-oriented approach
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
  • A genuine desire to learn and build a career in corporate finance
  • Strong academic background (minimum 2:1 or equivalent)

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of one of the largest mid-market Corporate Finance teams in the Midlands
  • Join a respected and growing international advisory firm
  • Benefit from increased global connectivity following the KeyCorp transaction
