 Salary: £46,000-£50,000 (DOE)
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Strategic Communications Manager to join a high-profile regional organisation focused on driving investment, growth, and reputation across the West Midlands. This role offers the chance to lead the development and delivery of dynamic, perception-shifting communication campaigns with both national and international reach. You'll oversee multi-channel strategies across media, digital, and stakeholder engagement, shaping the narrative of one of the UK's most ambitious and fast-developing regions. Managing a small, high-performing team, you will combine strategic oversight with hands-on execution in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Key Requirements
- Develop and deliver a full-funnel communications strategy targeting B2B and real estate audiences. 
- Lead the creation of compelling narratives and messaging to position the region as a global hub for investment and innovation. 
- Produce high-quality written content, including press releases, op-eds, speeches, and long-form articles. 
- Manage proactive media relations to secure impactful national and international coverage. 
- Oversee planning and coordination of communications across multiple business functions and campaigns. 
- Line manage a small communications team, supporting professional development and delivery. 
- Work collaboratively with senior leadership to deliver consistent corporate messaging and strategic storytelling. 
- Analyse and report on campaign performance, ensuring measurable impact and continuous improvement. 
- Manage external agency relationships to ensure alignment with communications strategy. 
- Support stakeholder engagement across public, private, and regional partners to promote shared goals. 
Candidate Criteria
- Proven experience in strategic communications, PR, or marketing within a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. 
- Exceptional written and editorial skills, with the ability to translate complex information into engaging content. 
- Strong understanding of media relations across trade, national, and broadcast platforms. 
- Demonstrable success managing and delivering B2B or place-making campaigns. 
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution and delivery. 
- Strong project management and organisational skills, with experience managing multiple priorities. 
- Confident communicator, capable of engaging senior stakeholders and external partners. 
- Experience leading or mentoring small teams in a collaborative, high-performing environment. 
- A creative, adaptable approach with an eye for innovation and new communication formats.
