hey are seeking a driven Lead Shipping professional to take a key role within the Operations team. This position offers the opportunity to further develop expertise across shipping, logistics, and freight forwarding, with strong scope for ongoing personal and career development within a growing business.

Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Specialist Lead
Location: Telford
Salary: £38 - 42,000

Key Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate all customer shipments to meet delivery schedules
Ensure all shipping paperwork, labels, and advance shipping notifications are accurate and compliant with customer requirements
Use SAP and business systems to manage shipping activities
Work with customers and third‑party logistics providers to ensure safe and timely collection of goods
Prevent incorrect deliveries and lead investigations if delivery issues occur
Obtain quotes, book, and track freight when required
Coordinate supplier deliveries and ensure goods are receipted correctly and booked into stock
Support goods receiving activities and report any delivery discrepancies
Ensure all materials meet Quality Standards (MQS) and TS/IATF requirements
Coordinate all import and export shipments for suppliers and customers
Ensure all customs documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted on time using the CCUK Customs Broker
Ensure EU shipments include correct export documentation and duty declarations
Maintain organised records for finance reviews and customs audits (HMRC)
Lead, support, and develop the Shipping & Receiving team
Drive performance in line with business objectives and department KPIs
Apply Lean and standards in the shipping area
Promote teamwork and a hands‑on approach to problem solving
Ensure damaged customer packaging is identified, reported, and stored correctly
Conduct monthly packaging audits and investigate discrepancies
Control documentation for scrap and waste sold to third parties
Promote Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies across the department
Support dispute investigations with evidence
Perform other duties as requested by the MP&L Supervisor


Ideal Experience

Strong experience using SAP for shipping and logistics
UK and international shipping knowledge
Manufacturing industry experience
Good knowledge of import/export and customs processes
Confident working with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
