I am sourcing an experienced Senior HR Partner for a 18 month FTC, reporting directly to the Senior HR Business Partner. The role is fully remote with 3-4 days travelling to different locations.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the operation, partnering with managers, navigating complex people issues and making things happen.
Senior HR Partner Key Responsibilities:
This is a genuinely hands-on, operational HR role where you'll be out and about supporting managers across multiple depots.
You'll act as a trusted first point of contact for HR advice, taking ownership of a varied ER caseload and partnering with managers to resolve people issues fairly, consistently and commercially.
You'll need to be comfortable operating in a heavily unionised environment, working collaboratively with Trade Union representatives and supporting consultation, negotiations and early resolution of issues.
- Managing a broad ER caseload including disciplinary, grievance, attendance, performance and capability
- Coaching managers through investigations, meetings, documentation and decision-making
- Building strong and credible relationships with Trade Union representatives
- Supporting consultation, local negotiations and industrial relations activity
- Advising on contracts, terms and conditions, policies and procedural changes
- Supporting restructures, TUPE, role changes and organisational change
- Taking a proactive approach to absence management, including complex and long-term cases and Occupational Health referrals
- Using HR data, dashboards and case management information to identify trends and provide insight
- Supporting workforce planning, including absence, turnover and skills analysis
- Working alongside HR Admin and Resourcing teams across recruitment, onboarding, probation and contractual changes
- Supporting managers through HR training, ER guidance and people process best practice
- Ensuring all HR activity is legally compliant, consistent and aligned with organisational policy
Senior HR Partner Key Skills:
- Strong hands-on employee relations experience
- Proven experience working with Trade Unions
- Experience of operating within a heavily unionised environment
- Confidence managing complex ER cases from investigation through to resolution
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- The ability to coach and challenge managers effectively
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A pragmatic, commercially minded approach to HR
- The confidence to work independently across multiple sites
- A willingness to travel 3-4 days per week to different depots across the UK
