The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Finance Manager to take ownership of the end-to-end finance function for a growing and commercially focused organisation based in Birmingham. This is a hands-on role that combines technical financial excellence with strong business partnering, supporting senior stakeholders with insight, analysis, and decision-making.
Reporting into the Finance Director, you will play a key role in driving financial performance, improving processes, and supporting the wider business through high-quality reporting and commercial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Control
Full ownership of month-end close, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
Preparation and review of monthly management accounts with clear commentary and insights
Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial reporting
Support year-end processes and liaise with external auditors
Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with senior stakeholders
Produce rolling forecasts and cashflow projections
Track performance against budget and forecast, identifying risks and opportunities
Business Partnering & Commercial Analysis
Act as a trusted finance business partner to senior leaders and department heads
Provide detailed financial analysis to support strategic and operational decisions
Develop KPIs, dashboards, and reporting to drive performance and accountability
Challenge assumptions and provide constructive commercial insight
Process Improvement & Leadership
Identify and implement improvements to financial processes, controls, and systems
Support, mentor, and develop junior members of the finance team (if applicable)
Contribute to wider finance and business transformation initiatives
About You
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
Proven experience in an end-to-end finance role at Senior Finance Manager / Finance Manager level
Strong technical accounting and financial reporting background
Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, and commercial analysis
Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
- Degree in accountancy, economics or business.
