**SENIOR BUYER - RAIL SERVICES**
West Midlands / Hybrid | Salary: £45K - £50K
This company is a leading player in the rail services industry, known for its commitment to operational excellence and innovation. The company is seeking a dedicated Senior Buyer - Rail Services to join its dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the procurement strategies that drive the company's success, ensuring that sourcing decisions align with industry standards and stakeholder expectations.
The Senior Buyer - Rail Services will play a crucial role in supporting maintenance depots with their sourcing requirements for direct materials and services. This role focuses on improving costs, delivery performance, and quality while driving better reliability across the organisation.
**Responsibilities Included:**
- Comply with company ethical standards and ensure adherence to Procurement Policy and Authorities.
- Lead RFQ and RFP planning, including requirements gathering to support tender activities.
- Negotiate with suppliers to ensure compliance with standards and relevant legal requirements.
- Manage Supplier Relationship Management activities, including Quarterly Business Reviews with key suppliers.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and value addition for the business.
**Skills and Attributes:**
- A university degree or MCIPS qualification is desirable.
- A minimum of 3 years sourcing experience within the rail maintenance industry.
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills (both oral and written).
- Proven ability to foster strategic supplier relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving and change management.
