We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially aware Sales Estimator to join our highways team. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with an established infrastructure business.
The Role
You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for parapet systems across a range of highway infrastructure projects. The position involves reviewing tender documents, preparing detailed cost estimates, and supporting the bid process through to successful handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing tender documentation, drawings, and specifications
- Preparing detailed cost estimates for supply and installation (materials, labour, plant, subcontractors)
- Working closely with design and engineering teams to ensure compliance and value engineering
- Identifying risks, exclusions, and opportunities within tenders
- Supporting bid submissions with pricing breakdowns and supporting documentation
- Attending pre- and post-tender meetings where required
- Collaborating with project managers and commercial teams for smooth handovers
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in estimating within the highways or civil engineering sector would be ideal but not essential
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Proficiency with ERP systems
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
