About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sales & Estimating Manager to join a leading business within the infrastructure and construction sector. This is a pivotal role responsible for driving revenue growth, securing profitable projects, and ensuring the delivery of accurate and competitive pricing strategies.

The role will involve managing client relationships, overseeing the preparation of estimates and tenders, and working closely with operations, technical, and finance teams to align with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Management

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve business targets.
  • Identify new opportunities and build strong, long-lasting client relationships.
  • Lead and develop the estimating team, ensuring motivation and performance management.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy.

Estimating

  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely estimates and quotations.
  • Review tender documents, specifications, and drawings to assess project requirements.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
  • Ensure estimates reflect current market rates and company capabilities.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Work cross-functionally with operations, finance, technical, and delivery teams.
  • Support senior management with strategic planning and forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry standards.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a sales and/or estimating role, ideally within the highways or wider infrastructure industry.
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with a track record of developing teams.
