Property Solicitor | Residential & Commercial Property

Banbury, Oxfordshire | 1-5 PQE | Other levels of experience considered

Not every property role needs to mean moving to a larger team or taking on the same caseload elsewhere. Sometimes, the right move is about finding a firm where you can take ownership of your work, build lasting client relationships and play a genuine part in the future of the practice.

I'm working with a leading law firm looking to strengthen its property team in Banbury, with an opportunity for a Property Solicitor to join a well-established practice handling a broad range of property matters.

The opportunity

You'll manage your own caseload of residential property transactions, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages and the associated matters that come with running files from instruction through to completion.

For those with commercial property experience, there's also the opportunity to broaden your work across acquisitions and disposals, landlord and tenant matters, refinancing, conditional contracts, options, promotion agreements and development agreements.

Beyond the fee-earning side, you'll have the opportunity to develop relationships with clients and referrers, contribute ideas to the team's business development strategy and help support the continued growth of the property practice.

Who might this suit?

This could be a good fit for a solicitor with around 1-5 years' PQE, although the firm is open to considering candidates outside this range who bring the right experience and approach.

You'll ideally have:

  • A solid grounding in property and the confidence to manage your own files with limited supervision.

  • Experience working within the CQS framework and a good understanding of its requirements.

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise a busy caseload and maintain good billing and file management practices.

  • A client-focused approach, with the confidence to build relationships with clients, referrers and professional contacts.

  • Commercial property experience would be an advantage, but the core requirement is a strong residential property background.

Just as importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys working collaboratively, takes ownership of their development and wants to contribute to a supportive team environment.

Why consider it?

The appeal here is the breadth of the role. Alongside managing your own residential property caseload, there's scope to develop your commercial exposure, strengthen your client relationships and contribute to the direction of a growing practice.

If you're looking for a role where you can build on your existing experience while having a meaningful part to play in the team's development, this is worth a conversation.
