Production Planning Lead/ Master Scheduler

As a Production Planning / Master Scheduler Specialist, you will take full ownership of the production scheduling process. You'll be responsible for translating customer demand into clear, achievable production plans while optimising shop floor efficiency, inventory levels, and lead times.

Your deep understanding of Epicor ERP will allow you to manage and manipulate planning data, ensuring accurate schedules are maintained and shared across the business.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and communicate master production schedules based on customer orders, forecast, and capacity constraints

  • Use Epicor ERP to plan and schedule production activities effectively

  • Coordinate with procurement, engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure material and resource availability

  • Optimise inventory levels, minimise work-in-progress (WIP), and ensure timely order fulfilment

  • Analyse production data and adjust schedules as required due to changes in demand, material availability, or capacity

  • Monitor performance metrics such as OEE, on-time delivery, and production throughput

  • Run regular planning meetings with stakeholders to ensure alignment across the supply chain

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance scheduling accuracy and production efficiency

  • Support new product introductions (NPI) and engineering changes in planning systems

  • Maintain clean and accurate planning data within Epicor (routings, BOMs, capacity constraints, etc.)


Required Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience in a production planning, master scheduling, or similar role within a manufacturing environment
  • Epicor ERP expertise - essential (minimum 2 years hands-on usage)
  • Strong understanding of MRP, capacity planning, and supply chain principles
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and production processes
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented with strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and production planning tools
  • Experience working cross-functionally with procurement, operations, engineering, and quality

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field

  • Experience with Epicor Kinetic or Epicor Advanced MES

  • APICS / CPIM certification (desirable)
