An established logistics business is seeking an experienced Managing Director to lead the next phase of its development.
Reporting to the Board, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving operational excellence, improving profitability, enhancing systems and processes, and building a scalable platform for future growth.
This is an ideal opportunity for a commercially minded leader who combines strategic vision with strong operational capability and a proven track record within logistics, transport, warehousing or supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall strategy and performance of the business.
- Drive operational efficiency, productivity and continuous improvement.
- Improve profitability, cash generation and financial performance.
- Develop and lead a high-performing management team.
- Enhance customer service, retention and commercial performance.
- Champion technology, automation and process improvement.
- Ensure strong governance, compliance and health & safety standards.
Candidate Profile
- Previous Managing Director, Operations Director or senior leadership experience within logistics, transport, warehousing, distribution or supply chain.
- A strong understanding of Transport management both from an operational and commercial perspective
- Experience of contractual negotiations with customers and strong commercial understanding
- Proven track record of delivering operational and financial improvement.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- A leadership style that communicates with honesty, integrity and transparency.
- Experience leading multi-site operations and large teams.
- Strategic, data-driven and results-oriented leadership style.
