Management Accountant

Location: Birmingham - Hybrid
Salary: up to £55k + benefits
Type: Permanent

An established organisation is seeking a Management Accountant to join its finance team. Working within a structured and well‑governed environment, this role offers broad exposure across statutory reporting, management accounts, audit, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver month‑end close activities, alongside quarterly and annual reporting requirements
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accurate recording of assets and liabilities
  • Prepare management accounts with meaningful analysis
  • Complete reporting and variance analysis
  • Maintain standard costing and ensure accurate inventory/stock valuation
  • Produce monthly stock analysis and supporting commentary
  • Support the preparation and submission of statutory financial statements for assigned entities
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external audit teams, ensuring audit deliverables are prepared on time and issues are resolved effectively
  • Support external audits and ongoing compliance requirements
  • Take ownership of ad‑hoc accounting projects as required
  • Contribute to process documentation and continuous improvement across the finance function

About You

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
  • Strong attention to detail with a solid understanding of core accounting principles
  • Confident working to deadlines within a reporting‑led environment
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly
  • Proactive mindset with an interest in improving processes and systems
