  • London
  • Interim Tax Projects Manager
  • 12 month FTC
  • Mostly remote, occasional London meeting

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced tax professional to work alongside a Head of Tax, focusing on strategic oversight and cross-border tax matters across international operations.

This is a varied, project-focused position centred on risk management, process improvement, and providing technical guidance across a global footprint. You'll be working at group level on initiatives that require central coordination rather than day-to-day compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Framework & Controls

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive tax policy documentation, procedural guidelines, and accountability frameworks for the organisation
  • Design and roll out a global tax compliance monitoring system for use by regional stakeholders

International Tax Advisory

  • Conduct diagnostic reviews of overseas operations to identify and mitigate potential tax exposures
  • Analyse debt structures across multiple jurisdictions, assessing deductibility limitations, capitalisation thresholds, accrued interest implications, and distribution reclassification risks
  • Evaluate exposures relating to fixed place of business thresholds, cross-border payment obligations, and entity residency positioning
  • Establish appropriate procedures and controls in territories where intervention is needed

Transaction Support

  • Collaborate with finance and tax colleagues on post-acquisition integration activities, including resolution of significant tax issues arising from due diligence
  • Provide technical input on corporate transactions and inter company pricing arrangements as required

What we are Looking For

Essential

  • Strong technical foundation in corporate tax with solid understanding of international tax principles
  • Proven ability to manage multiple work streams independently and see projects through to completion
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex matters clearly
  • Self-motivated approach with strong ownership mentality

Desirable

  • Broader awareness of indirect and employment tax would be useful but not a full requirement

What Makes This Role Different

This isn't a compliance-heavy position. The regional teams and external advisors handle routine filing obligations. Instead, you'll focus on providing centralised technical oversight, identifying cross-border considerations that benefit from group-level review, and implementing frameworks that strengthen our overall tax risk management.
