Interim Director of FP&A

I have an immediate requirement for an Interim Director of FP&A to join a large Industrials client to support through a period of significant change. Reporting to the CFO you will be responsible for a matrix team covering the overall forecasting, reporting and budgeting for a multi-billion, international business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the right hand of the CFO, providing insights that shape corporate strategy.
  • Oversee multi-country, multi-business-unit forecasting with consistent methodologies and assumptions.
  • Lead a large matrix team, setting vision, building capability, and developing future finance leaders.
  • Standardise financial planning across regions for transparency and comparability.
  • Drive continuous improvement in planning, reporting, and decision support.
  • Develop long term financial planning, stress-testing against external risks.
  • Lead the cycle of budgets, resource allocation, and performance targets across the organisation.
  • Define and drive metrics that monitor financial health, operating performance, and capital efficiency.
  • Deliver board-level reporting packs with insightful analysis highlighting risks, opportunities, and strategic trade-offs.
  • Identify areas for margin expansion or risk of profitability erosion.
  • Partner with senior leaders in Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure financial accountability and enable data-driven decisions.

Candidate Requirements:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • Demonstrable experience of leading a large, international FP&A function.
  • Demonstrable experience of driving FP&A strategy.
  • Significant experience of partnering at board level.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading teams through change and transformation.
