We're looking for an experienced Indirects Procurement Manager to join a well‑established manufacturing business in Solihull. If you come from an automotive or manufacturing background and enjoy leading people as much as you enjoy improving processes, this could be a great next step.

About the role

You'll lead a small team of Buyers while also managing your own categories. The focus is on indirect goods and services that keep everything running such as facilities, equipment, maintenance services and professional services.

It's a hands‑on role where you'll work closely with operations, engineering, finance and other teams to understand what the business needs and how to deliver it in the best, most cost‑effective way.

This is a chance to shape the indirects function, lead a capable team, and make a real impact in a business that values continuous improvement and strong collaboration.

What you'll be doing

  • Creating and delivering sourcing strategies for indirect categories
  • Negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships
  • Keeping an eye on supplier performance and ensuring they meet expectations
  • Driving cost‑saving projects without impacting quality
  • Analysing spend and spotting opportunities for improvement
  • Working with internal teams to choose suppliers and run procurement activity
  • Reporting on savings, KPIs and supplier performance

Leadership

  • Managing, coaching and supporting a team of Buyers
  • Setting clear goals and helping the team build their skills
  • Encouraging continuous learning and a positive team culture

About you

  • Background in automotive, manufacturing or similar industries
  • Strong experience in indirect procurement
  • Confident managing and developing people
  • A great negotiator with solid commercial awareness
  • Able to stay calm under pressure and make clear, well‑judged decisions
  • Organised, detail‑focused and able to juggle priorities
  • Degree or MCIPS is a bonus but not essential
