Head of Procurement - 12‑Month Fixed Term Contract
Salary: £100,000- £120,000 + benefits
Location: Midlands - Onsite 2-3 days per week
Start: As soon as possible - candidates must be readily available
A leading UK organisation is seeking an exceptional Interim Head of Procurement to provide strategic leadership across Indirect Procurement, with oversight of selected Direct spend areas. This high‑impact position will drive enterprise‑wide value creation, enhance governance, and elevate procurement's influence at executive level.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver the organisation's Procurement strategy across Indirect categories, with accountability for a total spend portfolio close to £200M.
- Provide strategic business partnering to senior leadership, embedding Procurement as a critical driver of commercial value, risk management and operational performance.
- Develop and lead centralised category teams, ensuring best‑in‑class negotiation, contracting, supplier performance management and continuous improvement.
- Deliver sustainable value creation targets, ensuring robust procurement capability across the organisation.
Essential Requirements
- Master's degree/MBA (or equivalent) with 10+ years' senior procurement experience across complex commercial environments.
- Proven leadership across Indirect categories, with strong working knowledge of Direct procurement.
- Demonstrable experience influencing and challenging at Executive/Board level.
- Strong stakeholder management capability and the ability to drive decisions and deliver measurable commercial outcomes.
- A collaborative leader with a strategic mindset and a track record of transformation delivery.
