Head of FP&A

Location: Rugby
Contract: Full-time | Hybrid working

The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity for a high calibre finance leader to step into a senior leadership role at a pivotal stage of our client's growth and transformation journey.

As Head of FP&A, you will sit at the heart of decision making, partnering closely with the executive team to shape strategy, drive performance, and modernise how financial insight is created and used across the organisation. You will take clear ownership of planning, budgeting, forecasting, and management information, setting the standard for how the business measures success.

Crucially, this role offers a clear and supported pathway to a Finance Director position in the future. It is ideally suited to an ambitious individual who wants exposure beyond traditional FP&A and is ready to build the breadth, influence, and leadership capability required for an FD role.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Take full ownership of the budgeting and forecasting cycle, ensuring robust control, accuracy, and accountability across the business.

  • Shape the way management information is created, interpreted, and used across the business to drive performance and decision-making to support the commercial director.

  • Deliver clear, insightful MI that challenges assumptions and supports strategic and operational decisions

  • Drive improvements in finance systems, tools, and reporting capabilities

  • Champion strong financial governance, internal controls, and continuous process improvement

  • Play a key role in wider business transformation, growth, and efficiency initiatives

About You

  • ACA or ACCA qualified, ideally trained in practice with experience in industry

  • Strong experience in FP&A, with deep ownership of budgeting and forecasting

  • Technically strong, commercially aware, and comfortable operating hands-on

  • Proven ability to improve financial controls, systems, and management information

  • Confident communicator able to influence, challenge, and lead at senior levels

  • Ambitious, with a clear desire to progress into a Finance Director role
