An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Financial Control & Reporting to join a leading retail organisation in Cheshire at a time of significant growth and transformation.
This company is a market leader in its field and requires a high-calibre, technically strong professional to support this new phase of expansion by developing a best-in-class finance team, implementing robust reporting, and ensuring fit-for-purpose systems and processes.
The successful candidate will lead on all technical financial matters, work closely with a forward-thinking CFO, and engage with the private equity stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the financial control function, ensuring a strong internal control environment.
- Oversee preparation and review of monthly and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Direct the preparation of management and board reports, providing key financial insights.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, offering insights that drive business strategy.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team.
- Build strong relationships with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
Skills & Attributes:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA) with training from a top-tier accountancy firm.
- Proven experience in financial accounting, statutory accounts preparation, and group reporting.
- Significant post-qualification experience in financial control, reporting, and team leadership.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, and corporate governance.
- Strong Excel, financial modelling, and analytical skills.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a desire for career progression.
