Head of Department - Family Law

An experienced Family Solicitor is sought for a Head of Department role to lead and develop a Family Law team while delivering excellent client service. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Family Solicitor to step into a Head of Department role.
The Role
The successful candidate will manage a varied Family Law caseload including divorce, financial remedies, child arrangements, consent orders, TOLATA claims and pre/post-nuptial agreements. They will supervise and support a small team of solicitors, trainees and support staff, ensuring high professional standards, regulatory compliance and positive outcomes for clients, many of whom will be dealing with sensitive and complex family matters.
Key Requirements
Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales with a current practising certificate
Substantial post-qualification experience in Family Law
Strong leadership and supervision skills
Experience dealing with Legal Aid matters and Family Court procedures
Excellent client care, communication and drafting skills
Confident use of case management systems and Microsoft 365
Commercial awareness and willingness to support business development
Desirable
Resolution membership or Family Law accreditation
Experience in Public Law or Care Proceedings
Previous leadership or departmental management experience
