Financial Reporting Accountant - £55,000 to £65,000


Location - Reading
Qualification - ACA, ACCA or CPA Qualified


We are looking for a proactive Senior Financial Reporting Specialist to join our European Finance function. This role is based in Reading, UK, and will focus on delivering high‑quality financial accounting and compliance activities across several European entities.
You will work closely with colleagues across Finance, Operations and the wider international business, playing an important role in ensuring accurate reporting, strong governance and consistent adherence to accounting standards.



What You'll Be Doing

  • Financial & Management Reporting
    Lead key elements of the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting cycles, ensuring all submissions meet US GAAP and internal policy requirements. This includes journal preparation, subledger reviews and accounting for technical areas such as inventory, leases and provisions.
  • Statutory Accounts & Compliance
    Prepare statutory financial statements under IFRS and manage routine compliance activities for multiple jurisdictions. Responsibilities include coordinating tax submissions (such as VAT and corporate tax) and supporting external advisors to meet regulatory deadlines.
  • Controls & Balance Sheet Integrity
    Maintain strong internal controls, ensuring accurate balance sheet positions and alignment with group policies. Support both internal and external audits by providing clear documentation and timely responses.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration
    Act as a key liaison for international stakeholders, particularly within the wider corporate function. Provide guidance, share knowledge with colleagues and assist in resolving accounting queries across the team.
  • Continuous Improvement
    Contribute to process improvements, identifying opportunities to streamline ways of working and supporting broader finance projects.


What We're Looking For

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) with at least 3 years' experience post qualified
  • Strong technical grounding gained in a fast‑paced, international or multi‑entity environment
  • Experience working with or alongside US GAAP is highly beneficial
  • Confident communicator able to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficient in finance systems and advanced Excel; exposure to large ERP systems is an advantage
  • Organised, flexible and comfortable managing multiple priorities
