We are supporting this Wolverhampton based manufacturer to recruit a Financial Controller. Forming part of an international group, this divisional number one role will be instrumental in shaping the financial future of a growing manufacturing operation. We're looking for a proactive, strategic and technically strong finance leader who thrives in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.

About the Role

As Financial Controller, you will take ownership of financial control across the organisation, ensuring accuracy, accountability and excellence in reporting. Working closely with senior leadership, you'll play a pivotal role in decision making, identifying risks and opportunities, and driving continuous improvement across financial processes.

You will lead and develop a capable finance team, ensuring compliance with internal policies, accounting standards and relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the finance department, providing direction, coaching and ongoing development.
  • Oversee all financial control systems, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Manage financial reporting, producing accurate, relevant and timely information for stakeholders.
  • Support strategic planning by identifying business risks, trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate budgeting, forecasting and long term financial planning.
  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations and statutory filings.
  • Monitor cash flow and working capital, ensuring effective treasury management.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to analyse financial performance and support decision making.
  • Drive improvements in systems, processes and reporting quality.

Candidate required:

  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
  • Strong experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance professional within the manufacturing sector.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a track record of developing high‑performing teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Experience with large ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
