Our Solihull-based client is seeking a Financial Reporting Accountant to join their team on an initial 6-month contract. Reporting to the Senior Financial Reporting Manager, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial information and supporting key compliance and reporting activities.
Main purpose & goals
- Take ownership of specific balance sheet reconciliations, improving and streamlining associated processes.
- Contribute to year-end reporting, ensuring timely and accurate statutory submissions.
- Assist with company secretarial tasks, including preparation of statutory accounts and strike-offs.
- Engage with auditors and internal stakeholders to support audit activities.
- Apply technical accounting knowledge to produce relevant papers, workings, and documentation.
- Work effectively within a financial control environment to maintain compliance and accuracy.
- Identify, propose, and implement improvements to existing accounting processes and controls.
Key Requirements
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA or equivalent)
- Immediately available or available at short notice
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting experience
- Demonstrated ability to analyse and correct historic balance sheet issues
- Comfortable working in a group or multinational environment
- Able to commute to Solihull office up to 2 days per week
