Finance Transactions Manager - Interim

Hereford hybrid working

Are you an experienced finance professional with a passion for operational excellence and team leadership? We're looking for a Finance Transactions Manager to lead the delivery of high-performing finance operations in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.

Based near Hereford, this interim role offers hybrid working and flexible hours, giving you the autonomy to work in a way that suits your lifestyle while making a measurable impact on our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of core finance services including Accounts Payable, Credit Control & Billing, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, and Cash Management.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in line with statutory and internal deadlines.
  • Maintain robust internal controls and ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and audit requirements.
  • Use financial data and analytics to monitor performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead on system optimisation and automation within finance operations (e.g. ERP enhancements, workflow tools).
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Finance, HR, Procurement, etc.) to ensure seamless service integration across the business.
  • Develop and manage KPIs/SLAs for service delivery and ensure a strong customer service ethos across the team.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes by ensuring the integrity and accuracy of underlying data.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Exposure to AI reporting would be advantage but not essential
  • Strong technical knowledge of core finance functions
  • Experience managing all transactional operational processes, month-end processes, reconciliations, and statutory reporting.
  • Proficient in ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Dynamics) and confident with financial reporting tools and Excel.
  • Track record of driving process improvements and implementing digital tools to enhance finance operations.
  • Excellent leadership and team development skills.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities.
