GRG Executive Search are delighted to be partnering with this international manufacturer to recruit a high-calibre Finance Director to join the senior leadership team in a fast-paced, private equity-backed environment.

This high‑growth manufacturing group has multiple international sites and is now entering its next phase of expansion.

We are seeking an exceptional Finance Director to lead the finance and IT operations for one of the UK manufacturing sites, based near Burnley, Lancashire. This is the senior-most finance role onsite, reporting into the Group CFO with a dotted line to the site GM.

As Finance Director, you will lead the finance and IT agenda for the site, shape the financial strategy, provide high quality, data-lead insight and decision support and develop best in class MI and reporting packs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a strategic partner to the site leadership team to drive commercial and operational performance.
  • Maintaining a strong financial control environment and risk management framework.
  • Developing meaningful KPIs to improve performance visibility and quality.
  • Delivering accurate monthly reporting, analysis, and performance insights.
  • Leading budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management, KPIs and financial controls. Driving continuous improvement across systems and processes.
  • Steering the implementation or evolution of the site's new ERP system.
  • Ensuring strong communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Leading internal and external audit processes.

Candidate profile:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • Strong experience at a similar level in manufacturing or other complex industrial environments.
  • Ability to move confidently between detailed analysis and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Hands‑on approach, able to manage tight deadlines and competing priorities.
  • High levels of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Strong people leadership and team development capability.
  • Commercial acumen, business insight and operational awareness.
  • Proactive, continuous improvement mindset.
  • Low ego, collaborative approach with strong interpersonal skills.
