Our client is a well-established, market-leading manufacturer and B2B supplier, operating as part of a private equity-backed international group. With a strong foundation and ambitious growth plans, the business is now seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Director, based in Norfolk, to join its Executive Leadership Team.
This is a pivotal role in a profitable, high-performing business, requiring a blend of strategic insight and hands-on leadership. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to the Managing Director, shaping the financial health, compliance, and long-term direction of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Strategy
- Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A), providing insight-led strategies to drive sustainable growth and profitability
- Oversee P&L and balance sheet management, ensuring compliance with both local and US GAAP
- Align local accounting policies with wider group requirements
- Support strategic initiatives, including M&A evaluation and post-deal integration
Financial Operations
- Manage all core finance activities, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly and quarterly reporting to both local leadership and group HQ
- Maintain full compliance with the Group's FP&A calendar and reporting protocols
Compliance & Risk Management
- Lead statutory audits and year-end financial reporting, including Companies House submissions
- Maintain robust financial controls and risk management systems
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and regulatory authorities
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and develop a lean, high-performing finance team (including FP&A and IT/systems support)
- Contribute to the 3-year strategic plan and support broader business planning initiatives
- Drive continuous improvement across financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a commercially astute and hands-on finance leader with the following:
- Proven experience as a Finance Director or senior finance leader within a PE-backed, international, or fast-paced commercial environment
- Strong background in manufacturing, distribution, or indirect sales models
- In-depth knowledge of UK & US GAAP, statutory compliance, and audit processes
- A proactive, strategic mindset combined with operational capability
- Skilled in financial systems (e.g., Sage, MS Office) - knowledge of Power BI or SQL-based systems is a strong advantage
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Position based in Diss, Norfolk, with regular travel to other UK locations.
