I am sourcing for an experienced ER Specialist a 8-12 month FTC. This role is based in the West Midlands on a hybrid basis 2-3 day onsite.

You will be joining a fast-paced, forward-thinking HR team. This is more than a case management role, it's an opportunity to influence how leaders lead, how decisions are made, and how a high-performance culture is sustained across the organisation.

  • Partner with leaders to review and refine their approach to ER challenges, ensuring consistency, fairness, and legal compliance.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, navigating complex scenarios while raising overall ER maturity.
  • Manage a varied, high-volume caseload including disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence, and capability matters - delivering timely, well-documented, and balanced outcomes.
  • Spot patterns and emerging risks in casework, using insight to influence leaders and prevent repeat issues.
  • Contribute to the evolution of ER policies, frameworks, and ways of working that promote clarity, consistency, and a high-performance culture.
  • Drive continuous improvement by simplifying processes and enhancing both the employee and manager experience.
  • Lead or support ER-focused projects such as policy reviews, culture initiatives, capability programmes, and organisational change.
  • Proactively assess and mitigate people-related risk, ensuring strong governance, accurate documentation, and meaningful reporting.

ER Specialist Experience Required:

  • Employee Relations expertise, confidently advising on complex cases and translating employment legislation into clear, practical guidance.
  • The ability to coach, challenge, and influence managers at all levels.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, able to manage competing priorities while maintaining high-quality documentation and timely case progression.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to deliver sensitive messages clearly and professionally.
