The Opportunity
We are pleased to be partnering with a reputable and well-established Midlands law firm seeking to appoint a Newly Qualified Employment Solicitor, or an individual due to qualify in the coming months. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is ambitious about progressing in Employment Law but has yet to secure their specialist role post-qualification.
The firm has built a strong profile in the regional market and is known for its supportive, collaborative culture and commitment to developing junior talent. Due to sustained client demand and ongoing growth within the Employment practice, the team is seeking an additional junior solicitor to support both contentious and non-contentious workstreams.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work under the guidance of a highly experienced Head of Department and will gain exposure to a wide variety of Employment matters, including:
Advisory work for both employers and employees
Support on Employment Tribunal claims, including drafting pleadings and bundles
Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, policies, and handbooks
Corporate support work (TUPE, due diligence etc.) on transactions
Legal research, note-taking, case preparation, and client liaison
Assisting in the delivery of training and Employment Law updates to clients
This role provides genuine hands-on experience and supports the development of a specialist career focus early on.
About You
This opportunity will particularly suit candidates who:
Are Newly Qualified (NQ) or due to qualify shortly (up to 1 PQE)
Have undertaken an Employment seat or gained relevant exposure during training
Demonstrate a clear interest in specialising in Employment Law
Possess strong communication and drafting skills
Are proactive, organised, and client-focused in their work
Value a supportive environment where development is encouraged
