We are partnering exclusively with a Birmingham based PE-backed organisation to recruit a Divisional Finance Director. The organisation has strong values and a positive, collaborative culture, whilst continuing to grow both organically and via acquisition. As Finance Director, you will provide strategic financial leadership across a large, complex division, spanning a wide portfolio of services.

This is a senior, visible leadership role, partnering closely with the Exec team and operating as a key member of the wider Finance leadership team. This Finance Director position will play a central role in strengthening financial sustainability, supporting service redesign, and delivering on a major transformation programme.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Act as the senior finance lead for the division, providing strategic, commercial and financial insight at Executive level.
  • Operate as a trusted partner to senior operational leaders, supporting service strategy and delivery decisions with robust financial analysis
  • Contribute actively to group‑wide financial strategy, long‑term planning and capital allocation decisions
  • Lead divisional budgeting, forecasting and long‑range planning across a highly complex operating environment
  • Provide clear, decision‑focused insight on performance, risks and opportunities, translating complex information into compelling executive narratives
  • Lead the development and delivery of a robust commercial strategy across the division
  • Lead, inspire and develop a senior divisional finance team with strong commercial and business‑partnering capability
  • Champion continuous improvement in financial processes, insight and systems

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a proven track record within a finance leadership role. Healthcare, social care, education or regulated service sector experience is highly desirable, as is exposure to large, complex organisations.

You will be able to demonstrate credibility in leading complex contract negotiations and be proven in delivering on major transformation programmes, particularly around driving efficiencies and cost-reduction.

Cultural fit is crucial to this role. You will be a confident, values-driven leader with strong commercial judgement and a passion for helping others and making a genuine difference.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a purpose‑led, executive‑level role where you can combine strategic finance leadership with real‑world operational impact-helping shape sustainable services that support children, families and adults across diverse communities.

At Gleeson Recruitment Group, we embrace inclusivity and welcome applicants of all backgrounds, experiences, and abilities. We are proud to be a disability confident employer.

By applying you will be registered as a candidate with Gleeson Recruitment Limited. Our Privacy Policy is available on our website and explains how we will use your data.
