The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive Digital Marketing Executive to join a dynamic marketing team, supporting the promotion of the region as a destination for leisure, culture, events and business. This role will focus on managing and optimising social media channels, while also contributing to blogs, newsletters and website content. The successful candidate will play a key part in delivering engaging campaigns that inspire audiences to visit, explore and experience everything the area has to offer.
Key Requirements
Manage an active presence across multiple social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and X/Twitter.
Create and maintain content calendars and editorial plans aligned with seasonal campaigns.
Plan, schedule and publish engaging multimedia content such as blogs, short-form video, stories and newsletters.
Monitor trends and test new formats to drive sustainable engagement and growth.
Write, edit and optimise website content for SEO and discoverability.
Build and distribute monthly email newsletters to target audiences.
Provide live coverage and content support for key events and occasions.
Produce and analyse monthly performance reports using GA4, Emplifi and social insights.
Collaborate with colleagues and partners to ensure consistency across campaigns and channels.
Support wider marketing priorities and campaigns as required.
Candidate Criteria
2-3 years' experience in digital or social media marketing, ideally within tourism, leisure, culture, or other consumer-facing sectors.
Strong track record in managing content across multiple social media platforms.
Excellent copywriting and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone across channels.
Experience with short-form video production and editing (e.g. Reels, TikTok).
Familiarity with CMS and email marketing platforms.
Confident in using analytics tools to inform planning and improve performance.
Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Flexible and collaborative, with a proactive and creative mindset.
Knowledge of SEO and content optimisation (desirable).
Experience in event-related or destination marketing, or with influencer/partner collaborations (desirable).
