Package: £35,000 - £45,000 + bonus
We are supporting a leading European software group in their confidential search for a Deal Origination/ Business Development Associate to join their growing Origination & M&A function. This role is based in Dublin and will focus on identifying, engaging, and qualifying software companies across Ireland and the UK for potential acquisition.

The Opportunity
Operating within a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment, the successful candidate will play a key role in the early stages of the acquisition pipeline. You will research the vertical market software landscape, identify potential targets, and initiate first‑stage conversations with founders and senior stakeholders.
Working closely with senior team members across Europe, you will contribute to building a robust origination pipeline for the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound prospecting via phone, email, LinkedIn, and events
- Research and identify software companies across Ireland and the UK
- Initiate first discussions with founders and senior decision‑makers
- Build relationships with key advisors (corporate finance, legal, banking, wealth management)
- Attend trade shows and industry events to create new connections
- Manage outreach activity using CRM tools (Salesforce)
- Maintain accurate records of interactions, insights, and progress
- Support senior colleagues in building a qualified M&A origination pipeline
About You
- 2+ years' experience in business development, sales, lead generation, or a similar commercial role
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to speak to senior stakeholders
- Curious, proactive, and eager to learn about technology and software markets
- Organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable in a fast‑moving, international environment
- Prior experience in SaaS, technology, or high‑growth companies is an advantage
- Fluent English is essential
- Unable to offer sponsorship
