This is a really unique, hands-on Credit Manager role, working for a well-established, market leading business as they seek an experienced Credit Manager, to support their growing Credit team as they continue to grow through acquisition throughout 2026.

As the experienced Credit Manager, you will be supporting the Head of Finance, and also overseeing a small team of hands-on Credit Controllers, and you will sits within the central finance team of 12. You will have a proven track record in how to build relationships with customers, both internal & external. You will also need to be proactive, self-motivated, and happy to get involved with many varying tasks.

Responsibilities as the Credit Manager

  • Be responsible for the overall credit function, maintaining strong business relationships within the team and overseeking the growing Credit team
  • Being responsible for enuring all non-allocated cash is actioned daily by your team, as well as liaising with your own portfolio of customers to resolve unpaid amounts
  • To be responsible for developing and maintaing and implementing (where needed) strong and robust credit control processes and procedures
  • Having overall responsibility for the aged debt reports for the team, and resolving/investigation and issues effectively
  • Being pro-active with the team to resolve any billings queries and issuing statements
  • Daily checking of the teams overdue payments and assisting with chasing where needed, via email, letter or via Third parties
  • Managing all escalated queries - ensure query information for unpaid invoices has been passed to the relevant departments.
  • Issuing of monthly statements to customers / copy invoices as and when needed
  • Be responsible for monitoring all accounts and providing daily reports to the Head of Finance on the overall ledgers
  • Take action for any litigation processes where needed, and to liaise with solicitors, or collections agencies etc
  • Providing continuous support to the Credit control team, as well as identifying any training needs or recruitment needs

The successful Credit Manager will ideally be:

  • Be a UK resident with recent UK experience
  • Offer a proven track record within a similar Credit Manager/Team Leader role and offer significant experience within your Credit Control career
  • Significant hands-on experience with managing Credit Controllers
  • Must be fluent in English (oral & written)
  • Able to manipulate data and have reasonable Excel skills (pivot tables, V look ups)
  • Self-driven, results-oriented entrepreneurial person with a positive outlook and a clear focus
  • Attention to detail and ability to process a high volume of invoices.
  • Ability to work both within a defined structure as well as independently
