If you're currently working in accounts payable, have got to grips with invoices, queries and reconciliations, and recently had a taste of accruals, prepayments, or month-end, this is your opportunity to take that leap into an Assistant Management Accountant role.
You'll join a supportive, friendly team that's big enough to keep things varied, but small enough that your role won't be boxed in. Think of it as a "step-up" role: you'll still use your AP experience, but you'll also get exposure to the more exciting management accounts side - all with the backing of a Group Financial Controller who loves developing people who show initiative. This is a temporary-to-permanent position, with hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 from home) and study support once permanent. It's fast-paced, it's hands-on, and it's the perfect role if you're ambitious and want to grow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process high volumes of invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any outstanding discrepancies.
- Handle supplier queries, ensuring prompt and professional resolution.
- Support accruals and prepayments as part of the month-end process.
- Assist with reconciliations and provide accurate data for reporting.
- Prepare and maintain records to support financial reporting requirements.
- Liaise with internal teams and suppliers to keep payments on track.
- Contribute to payment runs and ensure deadlines are met.
- Get involved in ad-hoc finance projects and tasks as your knowledge grows.
Candidate Attributes and Skills:
- Experience in accounts payable (invoice processing, reconciliations, supplier statements).
- Some exposure to management accounts (e.g. accruals, prepayments, month-end) and keen to learn more.
- Proactive and ambitious, with the confidence to get involved and take on new challenges.
- Strong Excel skills and comfortable handling data.
- Available immediately or on a short notice period.
