Are you an early-career finance professional looking to grow your skills in a supportive, team-focused environment? We're working with a growing business based at Birmingham Business Park who are looking for a personable and motivated Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their accounts team on a temporary to permanent basis.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with 6-12 months of Accounts Payable experience who is confident working in Excel and is keen to contribute to a busy team that values a "chip in and help" mentality.

Due to increased invoice volumes, they're looking for someone to hit the ground running and get stuck in straight away - so availability for an immediate or short-notice start would be ideal.

What you'll be doing:

  • Processing high volumes of purchase invoices and matching them to purchase orders
  • Resolving any invoice discrepancies and escalating where necessary
  • Performing supplier statement reconciliations
  • Liaising with internal departments to ensure purchase orders are raised and approved correctly
  • Supporting with payment allocations, credit card transaction reconciliations, and associated journals
  • Assisting with bank postings and ad hoc purchase ledger duties across the wider finance team
  • Setting up new supplier accounts and maintaining accurate records
  • Supporting your team wherever needed - especially during busy periods

What we're looking for:

  • Around 6-12 months' experience in Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger
  • A positive, team-oriented personality with a willingness to get stuck in
  • Good working knowledge of Excel
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to resolving queries
  • Someone who's ready to grow and learn in a fast-paced environment
