  • £13.50 - £15.50 per hour
  • Birmingham, West Midlands
  • Temporary

Looking for a role where you can shape your day-to-day around your strengths and interests? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-growing event and hospitality management company in Birmingham City Centre. With business growth comes the need for extra support in finance, and this Accounts Assistant position has been created to meet that demand. The role will start on a temporary to permanent basis, allowing both you and the business to figure out together how the responsibilities will sit long-term.

What makes this role so exciting is that it hasn't been fully defined yet - meaning you can help shape it. If you enjoy accounts payable, you can lean more into that. If accounts receivable or credit control is your preference, that can be prioritised too. And if your interests sit more with month end and reporting, you'll have the chance to build on that over time. It's a rare opportunity to join a sociable, celebratory team in a sector that thrives on energy and collaboration, and it's best suited to someone who can start immediately or on a short notice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts payable tasks including invoice processing, statement reconciliations, query resolution and supporting payment runs
  • Accounts receivable tasks such as raising invoices, cash allocation, bank reconciliations and query resolution
  • Credit control support, including chasing overdue payments where needed
  • Month end support, touching on accruals, prepayments and reporting tasks as you progress
  • Building reports and collecting data for management to assist with decision-making
  • Working flexibly with the team to shape the role and support wider finance functions as required

Candidate Attributes and Skills:

  • Previous experience in both accounts payable and accounts receivable (even if just exposure to both)
  • Confident communicator with a friendly, engaging personality who fits into a fun, social team culture
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
  • Confident user of Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with data
  • Able to hold your own when resolving queries and ensuring finance processes are followed
  • Immediately available or available on a short notice (1 week)

Benefits:

  • Hybrid working (Flexible with which days work best for you!)
  • Opportunities to shape the role around your strengths and career ambitions
  • Social team environment with regular lunches, events and trips away
  • Long-term career progression opportunities within a growing event & hospitality business
