Here at Gleeson, we get that people aren’t always 100%. We’re a pretty happy bunch but we understand that it’s completely normal to have off days.

We work hard to build a culture that supports the wellbeing of our people. So, we sat down with some of the Glee team who shared their tips on how they lift their mood on the tougher days.

Listen to music

“If I’m ever feeling down, and I get to listen to a little bit of music, it’s a nice way for me to get back on top.” – Taygen Ford, Business Partner

“I like to listen to music. It helps me crack on and get myself in a different headspace.” – Mia Wright, Consultant

Get outside

“If I’m feeling a bit down, or a bit stressed or anxious, I will make sure I get outside. Even if it’s just a quick walk around the block, I get outside because it can be a long day if you’re just sat at your desk.” – Alice Cartwright, Business Partner

“It’s really good to get some fresh air, have a walk around and get out of the office. I’m a lot more proactive when I come back in because I’ve had that break.”  – Abi Bradney, Process Manager

Talk to someone

“When I’m feeling down, I find that if I talk to somebody, even if they can’t resolve the situation for me, it makes me feel a lot better that I’ve spoken to somebody about it” – Abi Bradney, Process Manager

Try counselling

“Last year, for the first time, I tried counselling. This was through the Employee Assistance Programme at Gleeson. It was paid for and face-to-face – it was brilliant.” – Tom Barnfield, Business Partner
