I am partnering with a manufacturing giant who are looking for a Vice President of IT to come on board and head up their entire global IT division. This role is a highly strategic hire charged with establishing the road map for the global IT function. You will have a strong management team underneath you made up of Directors of various functions (ERP, Applications, infrastructure etc).


The ideal hire will have experience working in a global VP/CIO role delivering IT strategy for large businesses. You will also be able to travel globally on a regular basis as the role requires.

Key responsibilities:

  • Establish and direct the strategic and tactical objectives for the function to support strategy delivery.
  • Set the framework for management and governance of the IT function including guidelines responsibilities and controls, ensure compliance and risk mitigation where required.
  • Drive identification and deployment of new technologies for competitive advantage.
  • Establish road map for global IT function with associated business case for IT investment based upon resources required to deliver both new initiatives and maintain the ongoing support for the business.
  • Deliver a suitable enterprise architecture, covering business process, data architecture, applications and supporting technology infrastructure (hardware, connectivity, applications).
  • Implement standard methodology, such as ITIL, to define process steps and way of working, so that IT and the business share a common understanding of how to design, build, transition to user and subsequently maintain system.
  • Drive identification and deployment of new technologies for competitive advantage.
  • Manage global resources to ensure best value service delivery through the unitization of resources (Internal and External).
  • Manage chosen vendors to agreed performance / service levels based on structured contracts.
  • Review opportunities for consolidation and shared services, supported by technology.
