Gleeson Recruitment Group are pleased to be working with a major brand within a fast moving consumer goods business, based in Birmingham. We are looking to recruit for a Trade Marketing Manager to join the team on a permanent basis to add value to the wholesale and impulse retail side of the business.

Job title: Trade Marketing Manager

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £55k

Contract: Perm, full time

WFH Policy: Hybrid/Flexible

The role:

Working collaboratively with Sales Managers and the Brand and further Marketing team to develop and implement a strategy that will increase point of sale within wholesalers and impulse retailers. This role offers a lot of autonomy and you will be expected to bring expertise of Trade Marketing to the businesses in this new role to them.

Key requirements:

  • Having a detailed knowledge of all brands and their strategy including customer targets and brand priorities. You will do this by working closely with the sales team who have a deep understanding of this and strategies a time line and budget
  • Develop brand proposition through customer activation plans at depot and retail level
  • Maintain a strong relationship with the customer trade marketing teams
  • Develop design briefs to stakeholders and partners for POS creation
  • Have excellent communication and relation building skills
  • Analyse the success of campaigns

Candidate criteria:

  • Experience within a similar role
  • Experience and understanding of brand marketing and developing and implementing strategy
  • Have good awareness of brand priorities and objectives
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to deliver a project in a timely manner, within budget
  • Excellent communication skills, stakeholder management skills and ability to develop relationships
  • Knowledge of FMCG ideal and of wholesalers and impulse retailers
