GRG Executive Search have been appointed by a UK Wide IT Services company to find a Strategy Manager, the purpose of the role is to undertake strategy development, both in terms of short-term and long-term needs, articulating the vision and purpose for the organisation and its strategic priorities.

This will be rooted in activities in the wider market and influence the approach to growing the scope of the business and the regulated arrangements under which the organisation works. The role will be outward focussed both in working closely with other teams within Regulation and Strategy and more widely, but also in engaging with external stakeholders and events in the outside world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitating the development and regular refresh of the 10-year corporate strategy
  • Managing the delivery of the annual 5-year development plan and its communication across the organisation
  • Working with colleagues to consider the potential outcomes of the energy system transition, the opportunities that may arise for the business and factoring these into regular refreshes of the Innovation and Growth strategy
  • Working with colleagues to identify opportunities for the organisation to grow and deliver new and enhanced services to its customers and stakeholders.
  • Contributing to the programme of work to prepare the organisation for a period of change.

Essential Experience:

  • Extensive practical experience of leading strategy development
  • Experience of working within a regulated business
  • Knowledge of strategy development tools and techniques
  • Workshop design and delivery skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills - comfortable in delivering presentations up to and including Board level
  • Highly collaborative style - able to interact with colleagues at all levels, across the organisation
  • Well-organised - able to manage a number of tasks in parallel, whilst ensuring that these are completed to time and quality
  • Project planning and use of project tools, such as MS Planner, MS Project etc

The role is new to the structure and is a permanent opportunity paying up to £64k + 10% car allowance and 20% bonus + benefits, the company have sites across the UK, and they are currently operating a hybrid working pattern.
