Gleeson Finance are delighted to be working in an exclusive partnership with this SME business in Portsmouth, to recruit a Financial Controller. Reporting into the Managing Director, this is a newly created role and the company's first permanent in-house qualified appointment.
This is a hands on finance position, incorporating management accounts, daily / weekly reporting, profit / loss, cashflow and budgets and forecasts. As a member of a Senior Management Team, you will provide support and information to the company's auditors in the preparation of statutory accounts and corporation tax returns, full nominal ledger management and monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts. You will oversee the maintenance records of sales orders received, VAT returns, preparation and reconcile the Company's weekly and monthly payroll and submission of the RTI return to HMRC. You will also manage and develop 1 Accounts Assistant.
In order to be considered, you will be a qualified Accountant (CIMA / ACA or ACCA), with experience in a finance leadership role, showing a track record of ability to implement high standards of financial control and report financial information in a timely and accurate manner. Experience of reviewing internal processes and implementing change are essential, and it is advantageous if you have industry experience in FMCG.
