Are you an Senior Project Buyer with experience of working within the manufacturing sector? Have you had responsibility for procurement of goods and services within a production environment?
I am recruiting for a Senior Project Buyer to join a customer focused, large manufacturing organisation based in Tamworth. As Senior Project Buyer, you will have responsibility for defining purchasing strategy for a range of goods and services and identifying market opportunities. You will manage the supply base and lead negotiation with suppliers. You will manage contracts and drive cost savings as well as value for money.
You will support and implement commodity strategies, deliver KPIs within agreed time frames and develop and maintain suppliers. You will also negotiate with suppliers and set up long term agreements. You will adhere to processes and procedures and drive these behaviours within the business.
In order to carry out this role, you will need the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
- An understanding of cost breakdown
- The ability to multi task and work in a busy, complex environment
- Project management skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
