Do you have back office payments processing operations experience? Have you got a keen eye for detail to support the initial escalation stages of AML, Fraud and Risk Management? If so, then please do read on!

Gleeson Recruitment Group are working in partnership with a Financial Services organisation, that are seeking a Senior Payments Processor to lead a small and experienced team, within their Risk Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing/reviewing and taking accountability for CHAPS, Faster Payment, cheque and FX payments for customers.
  • The inputting/releasing of high value payments (UK and international) completing customer verification and due diligence. Scheduling work effectively in order to meet payment deadlines.
  • Ensure all transactions are processed in line with legal, payment scheme and regulatory standards, obtaining expert opinion where appropriate. Being aware of and alert to anti-money laundering procedure.
  • To deliver quality service through processing all banking and customer service transactions accurately, in accordance with documented procedures and within agreed service levels (SLA's) identifying opportunities for streamlining, efficiency's and continuous improvement
  • Liaison with customers/third parties
  • Reviewing daily exception reports and processing customer audit requests in line with procedure.

Key Attributes:

  • Previous experience working with a back office support role in the Banking sector, either in branch or office and good operational knowledge of banking processes and key regulatory/legal issues
  • Experience of various payment systems (Bacs, CHAPS and Faster Payment) and processes; experience in UK and foreign payment processing is essential
  • Line Management experience desirable
  • Attention to detail and the ability to engage others to operate to a high standard at all times.
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Numerate
  • Working to high levels of accuracy
  • An effective communicator

This is a full-time, permanent position with flexible working patterns (ideally 3 days in office and 2 days home working).
