Gleeson Recruitment Group are delighted to be supporting one of the UK's fastest growing Financial Services providers as they seek to add a Senior Financial Reporting Manager to their team based in Coventry.

The business in question has posted exceptional results with profits nearly doubling to well over £200m. This is an exciting time to be joining the organisation as they embark upon a significant programme of change and transformation including a finance system implementation, providing an excellent opportunity to be a critical part of and shaping the transformation of the finance function.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the year end reporting process and oversight of the group consolidation
  • Managing external reporting including Annual Report and Interim Financial Statements
  • Oversight of transformation and improvements as they apply to Financial Reporting
  • Application of technical accounting judgement, preparation of technical accounting papers for Board Audit Committee
  • Oversight or preparation of accounting entries for key accounting areas for the group
  • Preparation of financial statements for the group
  • Ownership of the group's accounting policies
  • Main point of contact for external auditors
  • Representing finance on cross functional projects
  • Managing and developing a team
  • Inputting into the future strategy and development of the reporting function

You will drive continuous improvement in all areas and where risks are identified work to resolve or mitigate these while ensuring that escalation routes are followed. You will be a key point of contact for other areas of finance and other teams across the organisation and will collaborate broadly to achieve shared goals.

This role will be best suited to someone with proven stakeholder management experience, strong communication skills alongside excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. You will handle complex technical financial accounting issues and communicate them in a simple way.

You will be or have:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA) with strong post qualification experience
  • Excellent IT skills including Excel.
  • Experience of using Oracle, Workday, COGNOS (advantageous)
  • People management and leadership experience
  • Financial Services or Banking experience (advantageous)
  • Strong experience of IFRS accounting standards, IFRS 9 and IAS 39 advantageous but not essential for a strong candidate.
