Senior Finance Manager
Reporting to: Head of Finance
Oxfordshire - 2 office / 3 wfh
The Role:
Commercially focused business partnering and reporting role supporting a number of major clients. Acting as the key interface between the business and the client, I am seeking an experienced logistics / transport candidate looking for a role offering genuine career advancement.
Main responsibilities
- A key member of the leadership team providing challenge, financial support and insights
- Leading and managing the Finance team and being responsible for their objectives and development
- Ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of:
- Client weekly and monthly results:
- Maintain tight cost control for the clients
- Maintain tight financial control, including fully understanding the contractual and commercial arrangements with each client
- Creation, review and presentation of internal and client budgets and forecasts
- Monthly cashflow forecasts
- Ensuring sales invoices are raised accurately and on time
- Maintain tight control of balance sheets on a monthly basis
- Maintain tight control of supplier payments
- Managing / supervisor 1
- New Business and Account Development
- Be the finance lead for all new business and account development, including account retention and strategic growth of division.
- Preparation and maintenance of up-to-date SOPs
Experience
- Qualified accountant, able to translate strong technical expertise into practical application, and operational activity into financial impact
- Transport / logistics / distribution or supply chain experience from a logistics environment
- Strong commercial and operational experience with a proven background of delivery
- Ability to provide credible support to non-finance areas of the business
- Ability to operate at all levels within an organisation from boardroom to shop floor
- Strong team player but also happy to work independently on own initiative
- Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills
- Excellent Excel skills
- Excellent Google Sheet skills
- Line Manager responsibilities with a proven track record of developing team
