Gleeson Recruitment Group are supporting an exciting and forward-thinking energy service provider as they seek to appoint a Senior Finance Business Partner to their team based in Warwickshire.

This high-profile senior leadership position reports directly into the CFO and requires a qualified (ACA/ACCA/ACMA) & commercially savvy finance professional to partner with the Managing Director of a highly profitable business unit and provide strategic insight to deliver tangible performance improvements.

You will also work closely with the senior leadership team across the business, developing the strategic and financial priorities to drive financial and business performance forward. You will own all aspects of finance for the business, including the strategic business plan, rolling forecasts, performance monitoring, pricing, control and assurance over revenues and the cost base.

The role will be based in Warwickshire and the business in question operates under a hybrid working routine (generally two days a week in the office). You will have one direct report but also have dotted line responsibility for the wider finance team within the business unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive performance analysis and insights, communicating key messages clearly to senior leaders in both finance and the operational business. Highlight risks and opportunities and champion improvement initiatives, challenging effectively and celebrating progress.
  • Lead the long-term business & financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes to drive performance.
  • Accountable for the development and production of customer prices and their ongoing review, including ownership of annual price changes and supporting the commercial team in setting and reviewing pricing strategy in light of evolving market and regulatory conditions.
  • Assurance of all business case proposals to ensure that they align to the strategic priorities of the business, represent value for money, will not have unintended onward impacts and are authorised in line with the governance process. Monitor in flight projects to ensure that spend is within authorised levels and time lines are understood.
  • Implement robust financial processes and controls, to manage, control and report the financial performance of the business across revenue, cost reporting and the balance sheet.
  • Coach and develop the Credit and Invoicing team as they continue to improve processes, including automation where appropriate, ensuring that controls are suitable and are operating reliably to mitigate known risks.
  • Support the Commercial team with new product development and innovation projects, and lead finance work streams on system optimisation or replacement projects.

Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / ACMA)
  • Strategic finance leader with the credibility and strength to influence and shape decisions
  • Good commercial understanding and experience ideally including pricing
  • Regulatory experience and/or awareness of regulatory developments would be beneficial
  • Financial reporting, planning, forecasting and risk management
  • Resilient and pragmatic
  • Focused on the detail, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent inter-personal skills with the ability to build relationships across the business and influence external stakeholders
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and change, harnessing opportunities for improvement
