Our client, an international Law firm who have been recognized repeatedly as a top employer to work for, is working with us to recruit for a Senior Communications Officer

The role:

The Senior Communications Officer will provide a full communication service and outstanding media relations for the client to ensure they meet business objectives. This role will have more of a focus on traditional PR and media responsibilities, but the right candidate will also be expected to deliver on wider Marketing and Communication activity.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding media relations results for the firm.
  • produce a high volume of excellent media materials and coverage.
  • Work to tight deadlines and regularly secure coverage in national broadsheet and broadcast media.
  • Identify reactive media opportunities and work with fee earners to draft comment and sell-in
  • Manage the coordination of planned / proactive media opportunities, predominantly in the sector trade media (new win press releases, feature opportunities etc.), draft press releases, features or other copy required and sell-in.
  • Manage the media interview process including the management of media training, writing media briefs, liaison with print or broadcast media and attending interviews with fee earners where necessary.
  • Manage the monitoring of media coverage and respond to journalist queries. Advise on competitor monitoring.
  • End-to-end media planning for campaigns
  • Planning of media activity and managing activity delivery, with the manager, on a weekly basis.
  • Managing the evaluation of a campaign to measure success against objectives and KPIs, next steps and learning points
  • Share legal and sector developments to support legal teams with creating new content and opportunities and drive forward any content plan in place.

  • Digital, including social media support, web content support

Candidate criteria:

  • Experience in similar or same role
  • Education up to degree level in desirable field - not essential but desirable
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent copy writing skills
  • Good knowledge of digital marketing
  • Professional firm experience desirable but not essential
  • Able to guide others on best-practice approaches to day-to-day team tasks
  • Proactively introducing methods to improve the efficiency of routine tasks
