With a class leading product portfolio and a truly international customer base, this historic and well-established UK based manufacturing organisation has a turnover of circa £5M with an exceptionally healthy level of profitability. Part of a leading international PE backed group of companies who have a strong desire to not only grow the overall business but to also invest in its R&D and market penetration and diversify and grow its end user customer base.
Due to internal promotion and ongoing company growth, they now wish to appoint an experienced Sales Manager who will be responsible for the UK business as a whole across their global client base and will report directly to the UK MD. The role of the Sales Manager will be one of commercial leadership, key account management and distributor and agent partner development as well as being the key commercial face of business to their global customer base.
The product set is a highly engineered and solutions driven offering that has huge development potential and innovation and new market penetration is both welcomed and desired by the parent group. The Sales Manager will be responsible for the management and development of existing key agent and distribution partners globally as well as working with the team in the UK and internationally to identify and onboard new partners and channels to market and measure them against forecast, inquiry rate, quotations and orders to maximise each partners opportunity and output.
The ideal candidate for the role will be target driven, distributor model competent and bring with them the experience of a formal approach to agent / distributor partnerships. They will be able to support and grow existing agents and distributors as well as identify new agents where required. The Sales Manager will be able to measure agents against targets and metrics and be able to support change where required. The ability to develop and maintain customer relationships is key and account management ability is essential to maximise the overall sales picture for the business.
A proven background within the manufacturing and engineering industry is essential and any experience of the meat / food processing sectors would be highly desirable. Experience of sales through an agent / distributor network on an international basis will also be essential in delivering against the requirements of this role.
